Beakman is a wacky scientist who engages children in the world of science through fun, innovative and entertaining methods. He's bringing his zany methods to a live show to delight audiences of all ages. Beakman's appearance also promotes Beakman's World On Tour, the latest exhibit on display at the Orlando Science Center.
Beakman's World currently airs Monday and Thursday mornings at 8:30am. In addition to his role as Beakman, Paul Zaloom is an OBIE winning puppeteer and performance artist that has written, designed, and performed 12 full length one-man shows. ORLANDO, Fla. -- The festivities of Gay Days 2008 are under way.
Although it may have once been treated like Orlando's dirty little secret, it is now a big, flamboyant moneymaker.

Organizers said gas prices and the economic slump will not slow things down.
The event kicked off on Tuesday Night with a bash at Orlando's Parliament House. The week-long event could bring more than 145,000 people and their money to the area.
However, the celebration won't be without controversy.
"Gay Days in Orlando is like Christmas time," Richard Cross said.
Patty Sheehan, an Orlando city commissioner, is also a member of the gay community. She said what started in 1991 as a one-day event at Walt Disney World has come a long way.
"I do here proclaim the week of June 2, 2008, as Gay Days in the city of Orlando,” said Sheehan. "I can remember as a young person looking out on the crowd of red shirts, like the one I'm wearing now, and feeling so incredibly empowered, so I think that's really what the message is about."
Although there are fewer protests than in the past, this year's event will not go unopposed. The Evangelical group called Love Won Out plans to preach the anti-gay message at a conference in Orlando on Saturday.
"We want them to know there's hope. Change is possible. You're not born gay," said a member of the evangelical group.
"The anti-x gay stuff didn't work on me, and I don't think it works on most people," said Sheehan.
The 145,000 gays, lesbians, bisexuals and transgenders come from all over the world, are they said they're more focused on having fun.
"You do meet people you don't normally meet out in the community," said Dame Edna, Miss Gay Days Pageant host.
Local businesses look forward to the funds. Gay Days brings an estimated $100 million to the area, and despite tough financial times, ticket sales have not slowed down.
"Even though gas is high and the economy is bad, people are staying in the country, and they want to come to Orlando, so that's a good thing," said Sheehan.
More than 50 events are planned throughout the week. This includes a film festival and free HIV testing. Saturday is the official Gay Day at Disney's Magic Kingdom.

May 30
At NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida, technicians are putting the finishing touches on space shuttle Discovery one day before its scheduled liftoff on mission STS-124. Launch is set for May 31 at 5:02 p.m. EDT.
"After months of hard work and preparation, Discovery and its crew are ready to fly," said NASA Test Director Jeff Spaulding during a morning briefing on Discovery's countdown status. "All of our systems are in great shape, we're tracking no issues, and we're right on schedule for tomorrow's launch."
The weather is looking promising for launch day, according to Shuttle Weather Officer Kathy Winters. Isolated coastal showers may be in the area during the morning hours, but a sea breeze will develop in the afternoon, clearing the coast and causing any showers to move inland. There is an 80 percent chance of favorable weather at launch time.
Today at noon, the L-1 webcast will highlight Discovery's STS-124 mission and payloads. NASA astronaut Michael Foale joins host Allard Beutel for a look behind the scenes at this two-week flight.
This mission will carry the largest payload so far to the station and includes three spacewalks. It is the second of three missions that will launch components to complete the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency's Kibo laboratory. The crew will install Kibo's large Japanese Pressurized Module and Kibo's robotic arm system. Discovery also will deliver new station crew member Greg Chamitoff and bring back Flight Engineer Garrett Reisman, who will end a three-month stay aboard the outpost.
